Deaf Latino links at Jamie Berke’s site

Posted on 13 December 2006. Filed under: Latinos/Latinas |

In looking around the deaf blogs today, I discovered that Jamie Berke has a list of links related to Deaf Latinos and Deaf Hispanic people here:

http://deafness.about.com/cs/subcultures/a/hispanic.htm

I haven’t had a chance yet to follow these links, but from glancing through Jamie’s page, it looks like she has done a good job of finding web pages that can help the rest of us non-Latinos learn more about the Deaf/deaf/HOH/deaf-blind Latino/Latina community.

Does anyone know of a similar collection of resources that people can use to learn about other Deaf/deaf/HOH/deaf-blind communities? For example: deaf African Americans; deaf Asians; deaf from other countries; deaf-blind people; deaf with other disabilities (such as learning disabilities); deaf GLBT (gay, lesbian, bisexual, or transgender); Jewish deaf; Muslim deaf; etc etc don’t be limited to what you see here.

If you know of anything, please do pass it along. You can post a comment below, or you can send email to me at ashettle (at) patriot.net
