More About Free Rice (and Vocabulary Building)
Last month, I wrote about a fun way that Deaf people–and other people–can learn new vocabulary while also giving free rice to hungry people.
I have now also written about the FreeRice vocabulary game at my other blog. That post is partly fun but it also talks more about general poverty issues and why the free rice vocabulary game isn’t enough to fight hunger. Though that doesn’t mean that it’s bad, just that it isn’t enough. In particular, it just isn’t a long-term solution for this frequently chronic problem. Which is what poor people need and deserve. So please do check out http://tinyurl.com/255u9a. This post also very briefly mentions poverty among Deaf people or people with disabilities (you can explore the wecando.wordpress.com site generally to learn more in depth about this issue).
Meanwhile, have a Happy New Year.
